A couple of good days, feeling productive although I am worried that we are a little behind where we need to be to take the first test. Next week will be a little squeeze, especially since we miss a day. Students appear engaged with the class and the first set of papers were strong. However, a few never did the papers and I wonder what to do for them. How this could be helped? Well, we have another paper up to bat now and we will see if a pattern develops.

Week 3 is showing a shakedown - the honeymoon is over. Students continue to exhibit interest in the course (although it has it's boring or obvious parts, sort of like all communication classes) but absences and work completion problems are cropping up for some. I'm confident that we will work these out but the process will take some time. Also the scrabbled schedule for these first few weeks is confusing to me and, I'm sure, to the students. It's hard to get a routine down. Funny how important that this is.
